Stop Wage Garnishment

Has the IRS threatened or already begun to garnish your wages?  We may be able to help.

If you owe back taxes to the IRS, it may instruct your employer to begin withholding a portion of your paycheck in order to settle your tax liability. The effect can often be severe, leaving you with less income that what you are actually able to live upon. Fortunately, there are steps that can be taken to resolve this issue with the IRS and reduce your burden.

Depending on the individual’s particular circumstances, a full or partial release of wage garnishment could possibly be negotiated with the IRS.  Potential resolutions include an Installment Agreement whereby you agree to pay the IRS a fixed amount each month and an Offer in Compromise in which we negotiate a settlement to your liability that is less than what you owe.  Depending on your financial situation, it’s possible that you may qualify for Currently Not Collectible status which will free you from making any payments.

We can help you to negotiate a full or partial release of the wage garnishment or help you to avoid it altogether.  We will recommend a course of action and assist you in proceeding with a resolution to your IRS debt.
